"When I smell smoke, I'm paranoid," she says. A large grassfire ran through her Gisborne block in 2014, destroying everything but her family's home. So when a similar fire approached last Friday, the smell of smoke was her first warning sign. She swung into action with her partner Brian and their daughter, calling triple-0 and readying water. Western Victorian grain grower Andrew Weidemann and his West Australian counterpart Barry Large have started the company LW Investments Australia to export grain, including their own, directly from farmers to end users. The ship is being loaded at the Port of Geelong and will sail for Oman this week. Farmers don't usually export their own grain. Typically, they deliver to a bulk handler like Graincorp or Viterra, which then manages export logistics. I do not know much about bookkeeping as I have a professional to do the job for my small business. He keeps informing me about the required things and the financial statements. Recently, he told me about bank reconciliation that helped him to identify a few missing transactions from the records. I was surprised that they were missed in the first place, but it was due to an internal problem with an employee. Anyway, he spent a good amount of time looking for the bills and we finally were able to sort the matter. Thus, I understood the importance of bank reconciliation for bookkeepers. If you want to know more about it, look at the article shared below. https://www.agibookkeeping.com.au/7-tips-for-efficient-bank-reconciliation/ A former Melbourne resident says he "probably" would not have moved regionally if he knew how bad access to medical services was in north-west Victoria.
Bryan Dyck moved to Red Cliffs near Mildura shortly before the COVID pandemic began looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Mr Dyck requires regular medical appointments after a workplace accident several years ago, but says he had immense trouble finding a bulk-billing doctor who was taking new patients. "Maybe I've just been spoiled in Melbourne — we had a 'super clinic' where we could get in fairly easily," he said. Local Labor MPs Lisa Neville (Bellarine), Christine Couzens (Geelong), John Eren (Lara) and Darren Cheeseman (South Barwon) penned a letter to the council, which was then published by the local newspaper shortly afterwards. That letter detailed eight government-funded projects that the MPs claimed were "delayed, de-prioritised or mismanaged" by the City of Greater Geelong Council.
